How To Make a “Parentless” Child 1. Take an egg from one woman. 2. Add a sperm cell from one man. 3. Combine the two reproductive cells in a test tube. 4. Insert the zygote into the uterus of a second woman to gestate. 5. Wait nine months then hand over the resultant infant to a third woman (my then-wife), who had contracted the gestational surrogate, despite the fact that a second man (me) was in the process of divorcing her. Add to the equation the second man’s past as an international drug-smuggler and convicted trafficker together with the reality that he did not want to become a parent. Now, who is the mother of the child? And who is the father? In the subsequent landmark case involving surrogacy rights, after a California Superior Court Judge ruled that this little girl had no legal parents, an appellate court declared that my ex-wife was the girl’s legal mother and I was the father. My legal obligation is now complete and this is my story of why I have not recognized the young life, created by science and technology and driven by maternal and monetary demand, as my daughter.

I loved this story. I knew this writer from Pomona. When I saw him on TV years later on 48 hours I was shocked. His paternity case was so interesting. The story on 48 hours was so far from the real picture that no one watching it (myself included), could ever guess what more there was to this story. I sided with John when I saw the story on 48 hours, as it just seemed that there had to be more to this story than what 48 hours showed. When you read this book you can understand WHY he felt the way he did. The history of Luanne and John together as a couple, then add the lifestyle they were both living, the separate lives they lived, it was very clear WHY John did not want children. The story and the picture they portray of Luanne on 48 hours was so from the truth. They made her look like this innocent, sweet, fragile woman who was being emotionally beat down by her husband who just changed his mind about having a baby with her and refused to support it. The writer told the story of what really was going on and he did NOT try and make himself look innocent. He owned his part in all of it. His downfall was not kicking her out once he saw what she was, but after reading the book you can see why he knew it was ridiculous for her to want to raise a child when she could not take care of herself. John knew he was not father material with his lifestyle. The writer has done a great job telling the full story. I think the State of California should never of allowed Luanne to keep this child. She basically bought this child. She lied and deceived John, along with others to get what she wanted. The state knowing her history of alcoholism and unable to care for this child financially should of been considered. Why didnt 48 hours bring out her history the night they told this story? If they (48 hours) are going to tell a story which is very controversial, then they need to tell the FULL story. They left a great deal out which was not fair to the writer. John did a great job with this book. Very glad he told the full story. LOVED IT!!!!!!Product details

Not My Daughter the true story of a former drug trafficker and a landmark surrogacy case John Buzzanca 9780991578511 Books Reviews
A unique story! Definitely worth reading. There is so much to be learned from this book. Extremely well-written and engaging.
Great piece of literature. Really nothing like it, a very unique topic that is finally brought to light. I highly recommend this to any law students or those practicing law. Also a great title for college students. This really exposes the flaws in the judicial system, a landmark case. Would really love to see a Hollywood Film Adaptation
I loved this book, very detailed and honest I must add. The story line truly came from someone that had nothing to lose by writing this book. The book was a great opportunity for the author to tell his side of the story. From the rise and fall of the narcotic world to the personal demons that he had to fight from within. I strongly recommend buying this book. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him (John Buzzanca) and I fully support him on the success of this book.
Brilliantly written and detailed, this book is in regards to a famous surrogacy case. Whereas our technology is booming at a faster rate than our technology laws can keep up, this book details the implications of judges setting precedents in fields that are not laid out by our judicial system. This book is a must read for those interested in a knowledgable court case with an adventurous journey.
Great read'
